The University and College Union (UCU) has announced it will reballot several institutions on pay and pensions, closing 28 January. 13 institutions will face reballots on pensions.
Commenting on news of the reballot, a spokesperson for USS employers said:
“It is disappointing that the UCU is choosing to take this step, rather than focusing its efforts on jointly reaching a fair solution. On USS, employers remain committed to working in partnership with the union to deliver positive change including developing joint valuation principles, reforming governance; and exploring different approaches to the valuation methodology for 2020.
“We still hope that a fair and reasonable resolution to the dispute can be found in order to avoid further industrial action.”
