Universities UK (UUK) has issued employers with a proposal for contingent contributions as part of its consultation on the 2018 actuarial valuation.
Earlier this month the USS Trustee invited UUK to put forward a proposal for a contingent contribution arrangement, required to back the additional risk associated with the lower overall contributions deemed possible by the Joint Expert Panel.
UUK has now received further financial data from the USS Trustee, which has enabled Aon (UUK’s actuarial adviser) to finalise the development of a proposal.
A copy of the Aon proposal, together with a UUK consultation document, has now been circulated to employers, who are asked to consider the material and provide comments to UUK by 13 March 2019.
