Universities UK has written to UCU to clarify whether their draft proposals for the 2020 valuation should now be considered formal, so that employers can be consulted.
The draft proposals were not mentioned publicly by UCU until a press release on 31 August 2021, after months of formal JNC discussions had concluded. Depite repeated requests from UUK negotiators, UCU did not give consent for the draft proposals to be shared with employers.
