Organisations involved in USS have given their initial responses to the Joint Expert Panel’s report on the 2017 USS valuation.
The USS Trustee said it stands ready to engage constructively with UCU and UUK over the coming weeks as they consider their respective positions, in the hope of finding common ground that could lead to a way forward.
UCU described the report as a substantial piece of work and hopes that all parties will engage seriously with the report's findings.
Universities UK is looking forward to positive discussions with UCU, the USS Trustee and the regulator, so that it can meet its pledge of continuing to offer valuable defined benefits as part of the overall scheme and concluding the 2017 valuation.
